Always wear a helmet
A helmet is provided with every ScootShare rental. Never ride without one — it is both the law and the smartest thing you can do.
Get an International Driving Permit
Indonesian law requires an IDP for foreign riders. Riding without one can result in fines and voids your insurance.
Do a pre-ride inspection
Before every ride, check the brakes, tyres, lights, and fuel level with your host. Document any existing damage in the app.
Stay left, ride defensively
Bali traffic can be chaotic. Stay in the left lane, ride at a comfortable speed, and anticipate unpredictable drivers.
Avoid riding at night
Many Bali roads lack streetlights and can be poorly maintained. Where possible, complete your rides before dark.
Stay hydrated and rested
Long rides in Bali heat are demanding. Take breaks, drink water, and never ride tired or after consuming alcohol.
